Silver Network · Age-Friendly Living Network

Turning healthy-ageing principles into field action.

Silver Network is a Türkiye-based network working on the distance between healthy-ageing policy and everyday life — with practical projects that families and organizations can use today.

  • Vision

A world where longer lives are not seen as a burden, but as a source of shared prosperity across generations.

  • Mission

To help more organizations recognize the opportunities and responsibilities created by demographic ageing — and turn them into better products, services and decisions.

  • Goal

To bring businesses, institutions and civil society together around practical projects that accelerate age-friendly transformation.

The longevity transition

One of the defining demographic transformations of the coming decades.

Longer lives change how families organize their days, what homes need to offer, how markets serve people, how care is arranged, how money is planned and which technologies become genuinely useful.

It is not a single-sector issue, and it will not be solved by a single-sector answer.

Our approach

From principles to practice.

  1. Global principlesFrameworks agreed at the international level
  2. Field applicationsPractical tools built in Türkiye
  3. Everyday lifeUsed by families and organizations
  4. LearningWhat works, what does not, and why
  5. Wider adoptionShared and adapted beyond one country

We are not producing another policy document. We build ways to make the principles work in real life.

We create products and services because people should be able to see the benefit and use it from the first day — not wait for a report to become a reality.

We use technology and AI where they make complex healthy-ageing guidance easier to understand, apply and scale.

Families and the longevity economy

Ageing is not an individual journey. It reshapes families.

When a parent's needs change, everyone around them adjusts. Adult children — often in the middle of careers and raising children of their own — become planners, coordinators and decision-makers for a household that is no longer only theirs.

Women are at the centre of this picture: as professionals, entrepreneurs, consumers and family decision-makers. Family care is real work. Good design should reduce its weight, not assume it will always be there.

The longevity economy is also a family economy.

A woman sits at a kitchen table with a planner, a phone and a mug, looking thoughtful, while an older man reads a book in the living room behind her.

Field projects

Practical tools, built in Türkiye.

Each project starts from an everyday problem and ends in something people can use. Here is what we built, who it serves and what we are still learning.

Ageing in place

GümüşEV

An ageing-in-place platform that helps older adults and their families assess home-related risks, identify practical improvements and support safer, more independent and dignified living at home.

A bathroom with a step-free shower, grab bars, a night light and a non-slip rug.

What problem does it address?
Homes are rarely designed for changing physical and cognitive capacity. Families worry about a parent's safety but often lack a clear way to see what to change first.
What we built
Guided home-safety assessments that turn a family's answers into practical improvement steps, and a family panel so that the people who care for a parent can follow the plan together.
Who benefits
Older adults, and the family members who support them from near or far.
What you can use today
The assessment tools at gumusev.org. The platform's interface and content are currently in Turkish.
What we are learning
Which small changes at home do families act on first — and what helps them keep going once the first step is taken?

Age-friendly assessment

SilverCERT

A structured assessment and seal programme that helps organizations see where their products and services create friction for people whose physical or cognitive capacity changes with age — and what to improve first.

What problem does it address?
Products, services and spaces are usually designed for a narrower range of capacity than the people who actually use them, and organizations rarely have a structured way to see the difference.
What we built
An assessment method built on seven touchpoints (T1–T7) where a product or service meets its users — physical product, digital platform, physical space, human interaction, documentation, delivery and installation, and support and maintenance — that turns findings into an improvement roadmap. The approach is industrial, not medical, and informed by ICOPE-style thinking on capacity.
Who benefits
Organizations that design and sell products and services — and the older adults and families who use them.
What you can use today
The programme overview and enquiry route at silvercert.org, in English. The SilverCERT mark is issued by Silver Network once improvements are verified; it is not a WHO, UN or government certification.
What we are learning
Where do everyday products create the most friction as capacity changes — and which improvements do organizations actually adopt and keep?

Why business participation matters

Social value and economic incentive, together, mean faster adoption.

Healthy ageing is a shared social goal — and it moves faster when it is also good for the organizations that shape everyday life. Societal change scales faster when incentives are aligned.

When an age-friendly improvement makes commercial sense too — a product more people can use comfortably, a service that earns lasting trust, a decision that lowers risk — it spreads through markets on its own momentum instead of waiting for regulation to push it.

International alignment

Informed by international frameworks.

Informed by international healthy-ageing frameworks including the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030) and its Age-friendly Environments action area, WHO's Healthy Ageing framework and person-centred approaches such as ICOPE.

References to international frameworks do not imply endorsement, certification or institutional affiliation by WHO or the United Nations.

Work with us

Let's turn healthy-ageing principles into field action — together.

Built in Türkiye. Open to localization.

We are open to working with organizations that want to adapt, test or learn from what we have built — and with those who want to build the next project with us.

  • Field validation
  • Knowledge exchange
  • Technology partnerships

We would like to hear from municipalities and public institutions, companies and brands, insurers and financial institutions, universities and research groups, technology partners, foundations and investors, and civil-society organizations working on healthy ageing — in any country.
